The Marvel Cinematic Universe is a fascinating place right now. While the interconnected franchises generally operate by their own rules, The Russo Brothers' Avengers: Infinity War has the potential to change every single property in the shared universe. Josh Brolin's Thanos actually succeeded in his villainous task, and was able to wipe out half the galaxy with a snap of his finger. It's currently unclear which Marvel characters were dusted and which survived Thanos' world-ending snap, including the motley crew from the Spider-Man franchise. I recently spoke to Laura Harrier about her role in Spike Lee's BlackKlansman, where the conversation eventually turned to her Homecoming character Liz Toomes. When I asked Harrier if she thought Liz survived the events of Infinity War, she told me:
Did Liz disappear into dust? I think she's around. I think she's sticking around. She's tough.
There you have it, true believers. While Laura Harrier likely wasn't privy to the Russo Brothers' epic plans to destroy half the MCU through Thanos' collection of Infinity Stones, she's got a good feeling about Liz. Because if she's half as scrappy as her villainous father, then she's got a chance at surviving Phase Three in one piece.
Laura Harrier's comments gain even more weight considering how little is known about the future of the MCU after Phase Three completes with Avengers 4. Marvel Studio has changed their MO by not releasing Phase Four's schedule in advance, so it's unknown exactly how the studio will recover from the finger snap (if at all).
That said, production has officially begun for Spider-Man: Far From Home. Tom Holland has been sharing photos from the set, although it's a mystery how Peter Parker returns to the narrative after his horrifying end during Infinity War. But the Web Crawler is definitely getting a sequel, hopefully with Laura Harrier's Liz back in town.

Well, this is promising. Although considering Liz's story in Spider-Man: Homecoming, she could also have survived the snap and never return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Liz moved away after her father's arrest as Vulture, so her return in Far From Home is far from guaranteed-- especially with Thanos' massive attack putting even more uncertainty to the character's future.
